Hyaluronic Acid · Revanesse Versa

Fuller. Hydrated. Still you.

Modern lip filler isn't about a different mouth — it's about a more hydrated, slightly more defined version of the one you already have. A thoughtful injector, a conservative plan, and a filler that's fully reversible if you ever change your mind.

What we won't do: push you toward a bigger result than you came in for, chase a trend that won't age well, or do the whole treatment in one visit when half a syringe would do. Lip filler is additive — you can always add more, but it's better to start small and grow into the look that's right for you.

What lip filler is actually for

Six things filler does well

Most clients arrive thinking of one goal — usually "fuller lips." In reality, filler can do six different things, and most consultations end with a different plan than what you walked in with.

Hydration

Dry, chapped, or aging lips that have lost their natural moisture — a small amount of HA acts like a sponge, drawing in water and restoring softness.

Definition

A sharper vermillion border, a cleaner cupid's bow, more visible lip line — without adding obvious volume. Especially good for lips that have lost their edge with age.

Volume

Genuinely fuller lips — added carefully, in a ratio that respects your face. Most clients want subtle volume; some want more. Both are fine.

Symmetry

Most people have slight lip asymmetry — one side a little fuller, a cupid's bow that leans. Filler can balance it.

Lip lines (smoker's lines)

The fine vertical lines above the upper lip that show up with age or expression — softened by replenishing volume just below the lip border.

Corner support (oral commissures)

If the corners of your mouth have started to turn down, a tiny amount of filler at the corners can lift them and restore a neutral resting expression.

How it works

Hyaluronic acid, explained simply

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a sugar molecule your body already makes — it lives in your skin, your joints, and yes, your lips. It binds water, gives tissue its softness and bounce, and gradually depletes with age. Filler replaces what's been lost.

Same molecule, gentle reinforcement.

Lip filler is a cross-linked gel of hyaluronic acid — the exact same molecule your tissue already contains. We inject a small amount, in a few precise locations, to either replace lost volume, refine the lip border, or correct asymmetry. The HA integrates with your tissue, holds water, and gives the lip its softness and shape.

Because HA is naturally present, your body slowly metabolizes the filler over 9–12 months. There's no "permanent" — just a maintenance treatment you choose to repeat or not. And if you ever want to undo a treatment, an enzyme called hyaluronidase dissolves HA filler within hours. Few aesthetic treatments offer that kind of reversibility.

The technique matters more than the volume. The same syringe in two different injectors can produce wildly different results — natural and refined, or puffy and over-projected. We work with conservative dosing, careful placement, and conversations at the chair to make sure the result matches the vision.

The filler we use

Why Revanesse Versa

There are many HA fillers on the market. We chose Versa specifically — for the lips and the perioral area, it's the one we keep coming back to.

FDA-approved · Manufactured by Prollenium

Smoother particles, less swelling, natural feel.

Revanesse Versa uses a proprietary process that produces smaller, more uniformly-sized HA particles than many older fillers. In practice, this translates to a few things clients notice: less swelling after treatment (typically), a smoother feel under the skin, and a more seamless integration with lip tissue.

It's been studied head-to-head against other leading HA fillers, with clinical data showing comparable longevity and a tendency toward less post-treatment edema. Versa also contains lidocaine as part of the formulation, so the lips numb further during treatment — most clients describe the experience as mild.

  • HA technologySmaller, more uniform particles
  • LongevityTypically 9–12 months
  • ComfortLidocaine in-formulation
  • ReversibilityHyaluronidase dissolves it
  • FDA approvalApproved for lip augmentation
  • Best forLips, perioral lines, oral commissures

For deeper structural fillers — cheek, chin, jawline — we typically use Restylane Lyft. Different anatomy, different filler. Versa lives in the lips.

What to expect

From injection to settled result

Day of

Visible result, some swelling

You walk out with visibly fuller lips. Expect mild swelling — they'll look slightly bigger than your final settled result.

Days 1–3

Peak swelling

Most swelling is in the first 48–72 hours. Ice on/off, sleep slightly elevated, drink water. Bruising is possible but usually minor.

Days 4–10

The lips settle

Swelling subsides, the filler integrates with the tissue, and the final shape emerges. By day 10, what you see is what you'll have.

Week 2

Final result & optional touch-up

We assess at 2 weeks. If you'd like more, we can add. If asymmetry needs balancing, this is when. Result lasts 9–12 months.

What changes — and what doesn't

The short list

The right amount of filler is the kind people compliment without being able to name why. The wrong amount is the kind people notice from across a room. We aim for the first.

What you'll see

In the mirror

  • Hydrated, softer-looking lips
  • A more defined cupid's bow and border
  • Gentle volume — yours, just better
  • Symmetry, if you had asymmetry before
  • Softer lip lines (smoker's lines)
  • A subtle lift to the corners of the mouth
What you won't notice

What stays the same

  • The shape of your face — no over-projection
  • Your smile, fully intact and natural
  • How you talk, eat, drink, kiss
  • The way photos look — like you, but on a good day
  • The feeling that anything has been "done"
  • The option to dissolve it if your taste changes
Is this right for you?

Honest about who benefits most

Great candidates

  • Adults who want hydration, definition, or gentle volume
  • Clients with naturally thinner lips who want subtle fullness
  • Clients with mature lips losing definition or showing fine lines
  • Clients with slight asymmetry they'd like balanced
  • Clients who want a reversible, low-risk way to test a new look
  • Clients open to a half-syringe first visit rather than committing to a full syringe

Better suited elsewhere (for now)

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Active cold sore outbreak (we'd reschedule)
  • Active infection or significant skin condition at the lip area
  • Known allergy to lidocaine or hyaluronic acid
  • Specific autoimmune conditions affecting tissue healing
  • Clients hoping for a single permanent solution — filler is a maintenance treatment
Pricing

How lip filler pricing works

Filler is priced per syringe. One syringe is 1 milliliter. Most lip results live in the half-syringe to two-syringe range, depending on what you're after.

The right amount, not the maximum amount.

Half a syringe (0.5 mL) — ideal for first-time clients, subtle hydration, or refining the border without adding obvious volume. The most common starting point in our practice. Many clients are surprised by how much definition half a syringe provides.

One full syringe (1 mL) — the most popular dose for clients who want noticeable but natural-looking volume, or who've had filler before and know they want a fuller result. Often distributed across both lips with attention to ratio (upper-to-lower).

Two syringes (2 mL) or more — reserved for clients with significantly thin lips or specific goals discussed at consultation. We usually recommend splitting larger volumes across two visits, with the second 2–4 weeks after the first, so we can see how your tissue responds before committing further.

Full quotes are provided at consultation. Pricing varies slightly with the amount of filler used. Hosting friends? See Glow Party for group savings.

Frequently asked

Your lip filler questions, answered

Will lip filler make me look fake or overdone?

Not with a thoughtful injector and a clear plan. The goal of modern lip filler is to enhance the lip you already have — better hydration, a slightly more defined border, gentle volume where it serves your facial proportions.

Most clients prefer to start small (half a syringe to one syringe) and add over multiple visits rather than commit to a dramatic change in one sitting. We're vocal about saying "less is more" and will always recommend conservative first. If your goal is a more pronounced look, we can build there over visits — but rarely on the first visit.

How long does lip filler last?

Revanesse Versa typically lasts 9 to 12 months in the lips. Some clients see slightly longer durations as the body adjusts to repeated treatments. Most return for a touch-up annually.

What is Revanesse Versa? Why this filler?

Revanesse Versa is an FDA-approved hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal filler. It uses smaller, more uniformly-sized HA particles than many older fillers, which translates to a smoother feel, less swelling on average, and a more natural integration with lip tissue.

As an HA filler, it can be fully dissolved with hyaluronidase if needed — one of the few aesthetic treatments that's genuinely reversible.

Does it hurt? How long does the appointment take?

We apply topical numbing for 15–20 minutes before injection, and Versa itself contains lidocaine, so the lips numb further as treatment progresses. Most clients describe the discomfort as mild pinches with brief pressure.

Total appointment time is typically 45 to 60 minutes including consultation, numbing, and treatment.

How much filler will I need? How much does it cost?

Lip filler is priced per syringe (1 mL = 1 syringe). Most first-time clients use half a syringe to one full syringe to start, depending on goals and the natural fullness of the lips. Half-syringe treatments are popular for clients wanting subtle hydration or definition without volume change.

We provide a tailored quote at consultation once we discuss your goals.

What if I don't like how my lips look afterwards?

HA filler is one of the only aesthetic treatments that's fully reversible. If you don't love the result — too much volume, asymmetry, migration, or just a preference change — we can dissolve it with hyaluronidase (an enzyme that breaks down HA) and return your lips to baseline within a day or two.

This is part of why HA filler is such a low-risk option: it can be undone.

Will my lips be swollen? For how long?

Yes — some swelling is normal and expected. Most clients see noticeable swelling for 24–72 hours that gradually subsides over the first week. Bruising is possible but typically minor — ice on and off in 10-minute intervals helps both swelling and bruise risk.

The final settled result is visible at the 2-week mark, which is also when we schedule any optional touch-up assessment.

Can I drink water, eat, or kiss after lip filler?

You can drink water, eat soft foods, and resume normal activity right after treatment. Avoid intense exercise, hot environments (saunas, hot yoga), and pressure on the lips (firm kissing, makeup application directly on the lips) for the first 24 hours. Stay hydrated and ice as needed.

I have a wedding/event coming up — when should I get filler?

Schedule lip filler 2 to 4 weeks before your event. This gives enough time for swelling to fully resolve (most by day 7, all by day 10) and for the final shape to settle. If you have time, ideal is 3–4 weeks out so you've passed the 2-week assessment with a chance to touch up if needed.

Avoid scheduling filler within the week before a major event — swelling won't have fully resolved.

I have a history of cold sores. Can I still get lip filler?

Yes, but with a precaution. Lip filler can occasionally trigger a cold sore outbreak in clients prone to them. If you have a history, we'll either prescribe (or recommend you ask your physician for) a short course of antiviral medication starting the day before treatment. If you have an active outbreak, we'll reschedule.

Is lip filler safe?

Hyaluronic acid fillers have an excellent safety profile when administered by a trained injector. Side effects are typically mild and temporary — swelling, minor bruising, brief tenderness.

Major adverse events are rare and are almost always tied to filler placement near or into a blood vessel — which is why technique, anatomy mapping, and aspirating before injection matter. We screen for contraindications at consultation and have hyaluronidase available on-site for the rare situation that calls for it.
